Medicor Cardiology, with offices in Hillsborough and Bridgewater, is approaching their 40th year of caring for area residents’ cardiac needs. Their personalized attention is carried out by an experienced team of board certified doctors, nurse practitioners, medical assistants, and clerical support staff, all committed to providing a myriad of comprehensive, high quality services all in one place.

“Our motto is to provide state-of-the-art cardiac care with compassion,” explains Dr. Rachana Kulkarni. “We want all of our patients’ cardiac needs to be taken care of under one roof.”

The practice offers in-house echocardiography, stress testing and nuclear cardiology, cardiac catheterization and interventional cardiology, arrhythmia services, peripheral vascular intervention, anti-coagulation (Coumadiin Clinic), holter monitoring, vascular testing, EECP (enhanced external counterpulsation), and blood pressure monitoring. And they do research and have an on-site lab with a phlebotomist.

“We are a full-service cardiology facility,” explains Practice Administrator Michele Mozingo. “We offer all aspects of cardiac surgery (except open heart surgery), tests, care and follow-up all right here.” Medicor is fully accredited and associated with RWJ Somerset, RWJ New Brunswick, and Morristown Medical Center.

The newest addition to the operation of the office is the installation of electronic health records for their patients; this provides patient access through the patient portal and gives patients access to all of their information. It also makes transmission of information easier and quicker. But beyond the high tech testing, treatments and other services the practice has to offer, the caring staff at Medicor go the extra mile with compassionate care to complete their philosophy.

“We want them to feel like they are part of our family,” explains Dr. Kulkarni. “Then it all falls into place.” The doctors and staff have a special interest in being part of and supporting the community. As Mozingo explains, “We care about the community.”

To that end, Medicor supports many of the local rec sports teams and has donated more than a dozen AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to schools, school sports teams, and local organizations. One of the doctors, Dr. Georgeson, has initiated a local chapter of “Walk with a Doc,” a program encouraging walking for better health. The group meets one Saturday a month to do a two-mile walk; during the winter it is at the mall and outside at Duke Island Park in Hillsborough once the weather gets warmer. There is more information about this program on their website.

Dr. Kulkarni was just named to the 2016 NJBIZ Best 50 Women in Business and also appointed to the Executive Leadership Team for American Heart Association's “Go Red for Women,” New Jersey Chapter. The “Go Red for Women” movement is dedicated to wipe out heart disease and stroke and to empower women to take positive action to reduce their risk of these often preventable diseases.

“We want to give back,” Dr. Kulkarni says. “That’s why we are very engaged in the (overall) health of the community.”

Medicor Cardiology is located at 331 Rt. 206 in Hillsborough. They also have offices in Bridgewater. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call 908-431-0600.
