Right Coronary Artery
Angioplasty (PTCA)
Pre PCTA
Post PCTA |
Before the angioplasty (PTCA), the right coronary artery is diffusely diseased with two high grade lesions (arrows). After balloon angioplasty, the artery looks better and with improved
blood flow.
Right Coronary Artery Stent |
Pre Stent |
Post Stent |
Before the stent is placed, there are two high grade lesions, one in the proximal
artery and one in the mid artery. After stents are placed, the artery looks nearly perfect, with
good blood flow. |
Left Anterior Descending
Coronary Artery Stent
There is a high grade stenosis in the left anterior descending coronary artery (arrow). |
A balloon is inflated in the artery (arrow) and a stent is deployed. |
After the stent, the artery is the same caliber as the nondiseased
portion and blood flow is good.
Total Occlusion of the
Right Coronary Artery
with Stent
Pre Stent |
Post Stent |
Before the stent is placed, there is a total occlusion (100% stenosis) of the right coronary artery. After a stent is placed, the blood flow is re-established to the distal portion of the artery.
Right Coronary Artery
and
Left Circumflex Coronary Artery
Stents
In this patient 2 stents are placed. There is a high grade right coronary lesion (area
in the box) which is improved after stent placement. |
| At the same sitting, a lesion in the left circumflex coronary artery (area detailed in box) is also
stented with the resulting improvement in flow. |
